New Autumn Boots With Hotter Shoes

I’ve been on the look out for some decent ankle boots for about, oooh, five years now. I always play it safe when it comes to buying shoes, as in, I rarely buy any, hence playing it massively safe. For one, the money thing and two, I tend to stick to what I wear the most and that happens to be trainers. I’m a trainer girl through and through, only straying to flip flops when the weather is warmer and heels if forced. But stomping around woods and parks in wet leaves and mud in trainers doesn’t really work and often leads to ‘soggy foot’. I needed some decent ankle boots to see me through the colder weather, so it was well timed that I was invited along to an event at Hotter Shoes in Guildford.

Now, Hotter wouldn’t be the first place that would spring to mind when thinking about where to buy decent shoes or boots from (no offence Hotter) The general thinking is that they do a, ‘slightly older ladies shoe’, and they do, they’re proud of that. But they also have some great shoes and boots for us ‘slightly younger people’ (I mean me in case you didn’t realise) Hotter is a family run business that started back in 1959, when they first opened a a slipper factory. By 2002 they’d opened their first store -they now have seventy-five –  and in 2015 they were named UK Manufacturer of the year. They make super comfortable shoes, have extra wide fittings and half sizes, hurrah!

I tried on a cool pair of suede, grey Chelsea style boots, and the leather version in black and brown before I settled on a lovely pair of tan boots. These were a nice solid boot, with a cute extra bit of suede detail on the back. I was a little unsure as to whether the colour would work with my standard blue jeans attire, but decided they would in the end after much starring in the mirror. And actually, since wearing them out and about I’ve had lots of compliments on them. Comfort is a big thing for me as I spend so much time outside with the kid. I do a lot of walking and running (and shouting) so I need to be confident that my feet aren’t going to be red raw after wearing new shoes. I think that’s why I rarely purchase anything other than trainers, because I’ve had so many shoe fails in the past that just destroyed my feet. But after wearing these boots non stop for a week I can confirm that they haven’t rubbed one bit. A big thumbs up from me. So if you’re in need of some new fancy foot wear give Hotter a try. For those who are tempted (go on, you know you are!) here’s a discount code to use to get you £10 off (delivery is free!) PQBTPD
